The Knowledge in Service of Society Initiative was founded in 2014 by Prof. Hasan Aljabbouli with a simple belief: knowledge has its greatest value when it is shared, applied, and used to improve society.
Our mission is to make knowledge accessible, practical, and impactful by removing barriers such as cost, language, and limited access to quality educational resources. We believe that every individual should have the opportunity not only to learn but also to apply their knowledge to improve their lives, strengthen their communities, and contribute to solving local and global challenges.
What we do
Free, high-quality resources
Create free, high-quality educational resources that are openly accessible to everyone.
Knowledge into impact
Develop practical tools and learning experiences that help people transform knowledge into real-world impact.
Lifelong learning
Promote lifelong learning, innovation, and continuous personal and professional development.
Knowledge for community needs
Encourage the application of knowledge to address community needs and societal challenges.
Support the knowledge community
Support students, educators, researchers, and professionals in sharing knowledge for the benefit of others.
Collaboration for social change
Foster collaboration, volunteerism, and initiatives that use knowledge as a force for positive social change.
How Siraj fits into this initiative
Siraj is a direct expression of this mission. It places modern knowledge tools in the hands of imams and community leaders — free of charge — so they can understand the real needs of their communities, prepare sound and relevant guidance, and turn knowledge into service. By combining trusted Islamic sources, local public data, and AI that cites what it finds, Siraj removes barriers of cost, language, and access, and helps knowledge reach the people who need it most.
